An easy way to make pastry dough from scratch with this recipe

An easy and quick way to get started making pastry dough is to follow these simple steps:Preheat the oven to 180°C.

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast and salt.

Mix in the oil, egg and butter and stir well.

Add the egg mixture and mix well.

Fill the dough into the lined baking pan with water.

Pour the dough on to a floured surface and roll it out to 12cm x 12cm (3in x 3in).

Pour in the batter and bake for about 20 minutes.

Tip the dough onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Place the tray in the fridge for a couple of hours and then transfer to the oven.

Once the dough has baked for about an hour, it should be soft.

You can transfer the dough to a serving platter and serve with icing, a fruit jam, whipped cream or a plain pastry.
